Starting Balancer

The first time you open Balancer you'll be greeted by a warning that you need to tap 'Add' to create your first account.

After you've created an account

Once you have at least one account created, you will from then on be taken straight to your transactions when you open 'Balancer.' You can later add more accounts by going to 'Settings' from the main iTally menu.

Should you create more than one account you will then see a Select Account screen when starting 'Balancer.'

Adding Account

When you first create a new account you'll be brought to the 'Add Account' screen. Here you can type in the name you'd like to use for your account. You'll also be able to pick out a corresponding account icon. Once done making changes, tap the 'Save' button in the top right corner.

Changing the Account Name Later

If you after you've created the account you wish to re-name the account. This can be done by going 'Settings' from the main iTally menu, and then by selecting 'Edit Accounts.'

Selecting an Account

If you have created more than one account in 'Balancer,' you will always then see 'Select Account' when you first open the application.

If you have only created one account, you will automatically be taken to that account's transactions.

From the 'Select Account' screen you can see each of your accounts current balance under it's name. If the balance is in parentheses and red, the account is in the negative. If it's balance is in gray it is in the posistive.

You can add an additional account at anytime by tapping 'Add' in the bottom right of the screen.

Viewing your Transactions

Once you have selected an account to view you will be shown your most current transactions at the top of the screen. Each transaction is given a label, date stamp, and dollar amount. Black dollar amounts indicate deposits and red ones withdrawals.

Add or Delete Entries

Adding or deleting a transaction is easy. Quickly tap 'Add' in the bottom right corner to create a new entry. The delete option is found in the top right corner; tap it once and then the transaction you wish to remove.

Modifing a Transaction

To change an entry you've already made simply tap the blue circle with arrow it in on the right hand side of the transaction. It will then bring you to the Edit a Transaction screen where you can change the label name, date, or dollar amount.

 

 

Creating a Transaction Label

A generic label of 'Withdrawal' or 'Deposit' is automatically set when you select your transaction type. You can change this label to be more specific by tapping the green 'Transaction' label. It will take you to 'Edit Label' screen.

Changing the Dollar Amount

The 'Dollar Amount' field is changed by tapping it once and then tapping in the value you want in the number keypad below it.

Selecting Withdrawal or Deposit

Set the transaction as 'Withdrawal' or 'Deposit' by tapping the appropriate box and a check mark will appear next to your selection.

Changing the Date

The current date is by default filled in the orange 'Date' box. To change it tap the 'Date' box once and a scrollable box will appear allowing you to modify the date.

Saving Changes

Once done making changes to your entry, enter it by tapping 'Save' in the top right corner.

Tools in Balancer

Equipt with a wide range of view and filter options the tools menu (found at the bottom left corner of the transaction page) is a great way to quickly find an entry. Changing your view to just deposits or by month, can give you a fast picture of where your finances are going.

The features

Views, Sorting, and Email/Deleting entries are all readily avaiable in the tools menu. By tapping your desired option once, your transaction list will show the change immediately.

Email/Deleting

From the 'Transactions' Tools menu you can reach the Email / Delete features.

Email

Before you can export your transactions to email, you must go to 'Settings' from the main iTally menu and enter an email address. When you are ready to send your transactions to email simply pick the month or your entire history you wish export by tapping it one time or by hitting the 'Select All' button. Make sure you select 'Email Transactions' at the top of the page so it is checked, and then tap 'Submit' in the top right corner.

Deleting

The deleting feature works the same way as the email. Simply select the month(s) you wish to delete from iTally and then tap 'Submit.'
